Malvern Panalytical, a leading supplier of analytical instruments and expertise, today launches the world’s most efficient, robust and accessible instrument for fusion sample preparation. FORJ™, the newest addition to Malvern Panalytical’s Claisse fusion technology portfolio, powers an uninterrupted workflow for optimized elemental analysis.
Fusion sample preparation for elemental analysis consists of dissolving a fully oxidized sample at a high temperature in a suitable solvent. The molten mixture is then examined using X-ray fluorescence (XRF), inductively coupled plasma (ICP), or atomic absorption (AA) analysis.
FORJ is the first step in an unbroken analytical chain which guarantees unmatched robustness and reproducibility, ramps up productivity, and delivers superior results. FORJ reduces thermal stress to minimize downtime, ensures stable heating for repeatable results, and offers improved accessibility for all operators. The system is flexible and customizable, with options including a mold sensor, streamlined monitoring, and sample reloading capabilities that boost productivity by up to 25%. Suitable for full laboratory integration and remote control, FORJ is backed by the support of Malvern Panalytical’s global network of technical experts.
Chantal Audet, Product Manager – Sample Preparation and Calibration Standards, Malvern Panalytical, said: “I’ve worked in the field of fusion sample preparation for almost 20 years, and FORJ is the most efficient and robust fusion instrument I’ve ever seen come to market. I’m so proud of the achievements of our engineering team, but must also acknowledge the close collaboration with our industry partners, whose needs have shaped FORJ. In designing this system to meet their extremely high standards, we have exceeded our own goals – and I can’t wait to share it with more of our customers.”
