Flow time!!

Hello –  this is my first blog for Malvern and I should start by telling you something about myself. Originally from the UK, I am Rheology Technical Specialist at Malvern Instruments in the US and I live and work near Boston; a great city, famous for baseball (RedSox), beer (Sam Adams), Harvard and MIT Universities and baked beans. I organise the Rheology Focus Forum for Malvern and if anyone has any topics for discussion or questions about being involved in this please let me know.

Rheology Society meeting, Cleveland, Ohio

I am currently looking forward to the Annual Meeting of the Society of Rheology in Cleveland, Ohio, which takes place from 9^th to 13^th October. Malvern is sponsoring the meeting this year and will specifically be supporting the reception on Monday night (10^th October) at the Cleveland Museum of Natural History. This should provide an interesting backdrop to stimulate scientific discussion over a few refreshments.

Aside from the informal discussions there will be a full program of papers, posters, awards and an exhibition where we’ll be showcasing some of our equipment, including  Kinexus. I’m going with a couple of colleagues who have rheological expertise complementary to my own so between us we’d hope to be able to make a useful contribution whatever your rheological question. John Casola is known to many for his expertise in the asphalt area, and Eric Bennett takes a keen interest in the capillary side of things.
