A fantastically full agenda for September MicroCal Meeting in Paris!

In keeping with our long tradition of working hand-in-hand with our customers, Malvern MicroCal is arranging the second of our annual European meetings to bring together current calorimetry users with all those interested in ITC and DSC technologies and applications – this will take place on September 26th-27th in Paris.

This year we are pleased to be co-organizing the meeting with Institut Pasteur (who will be hosting the meeting) and ARBRE European molecular biophysics network.

The agenda of the meeting encompasses a wide range of calorimetry application areas, from interaction and kinetic analysis with ITC, to stability profiling of proteins, vaccines, liposomes and fingerprinting of bio fluid samples using DSC.

Well-recognized biophysics experts from industry and academia will present side-by-side with talented new members of the growing community of calorimetry users. Geoff Holdgate (Astra Zeneca, Cambridge) is going to open the meeting with a talk on the power of orthogonal biophysical methods exemplified by an integrative structural biology study of a kinase protein, FGFR1.  Joe Coyle (Astex Pharmaceuticals, Cambridge, UK) will focus on ITC data quality and the intricacies of data interpretation.  Novel approaches to the analysis of ITC data will be detailed by David Landy (Dunkerque University, France) and Angel Pineiro (AFFINImeter, Santiago, Spain).

Anne Imberty (CERMAV, Grenoble, France) and Eric Ennifar (Strasbourg University, France) will share their experience in pushing the limits of ITC technology into interaction and kinetic analysis of biochemical samples of increasing levels of complexity.  Kasper Huus (Novo Nordisk, Denmark) and Frederic Greco (Sanofi Pasteur, France) will discuss profiling and optimizing the stability of protein therapeutics and vaccines with DSC, while Adrian Velazquez Campoy (University of Zaragoza, Spain) and Francoise Devred (Marseille University, France) will present their recent data on the application of DSC to the study of blood samples.

Last but not least, in the two workshops run by Malvern Instruments on Day 2 of the meeting, we will focus on best practices for  experimental design and data analysis to ensure high quality data and informed decisions to drive scientific projects forward.
