The link between air pollution and public health is increasingly understood. In heath improvement, one of the focus areas is to reduce inhalation of emissions containing smaller particles which are damaging to human health, known as PM10 and PM2.5. These highly toxic pollutants are small enough to be inhaled into respiratory systems through the simple act of breathing.

Here, XRF as elemental analysis technology can play an important role by enabling more accurate profiling of these particles collected at a filter carrier. Malvern Panalytical’s Epsilon 4 accurately identifies elemental composition of these particles according to the US Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) method IO-3.3. Researchers and governmental agencies can use this information for the evaluation of their toxicity and their source, leading to action resulting in cleaner air and improved public health.

In the webinar we will demonstrate Malvern Panalytical’s solution for the elemental analysis of air filters.
