Gel Permeation Chromatography (GPC), is a very popular analytical tool for polymer characterization. Key industries where GPC is used include the food and drink, paper, and personal care industries, among others, where polysaccharides such as cellulose derivatives, pectins and gums are widely used.

As a tool, GPC can help characterize these molecules for better grading, blending and performance/quality control, however, these products can present challenges to developing reliable GPC methods.

This webinar will provide a brief review of our latest multi-detector GPC system, OMNISEC, and discuss how its unrivalled performance can help in measurements of these samples. Particular focus will be given to OMNISEC’s sensitivity and how it allows measurements of highly viscous samples such as those above by using lower column loadings to avoid viscous fingering and other undesirable chromatography problems.
