In fact, the properties of these tiny particles are so critical that every gigafactory has to monitor and control these to be able to produce high-performance batteries with consistent quality. Gigafactories are being built around the world to meet the huge demand for batteries, both for the electric vehicle (EV) market and for other energy storage applications. Tesla’s Gigafactory 1 in Nevada covers around 500,000 square meters, making it one of the biggest buildings in the world, and the highest volume battery production site globally.
