The Cement edition of Zetium provides cement manufacturers with the perfect tool for rapid and robust analysis during all stages in the cement production process. The Zetium XRF spectrometer does not only analyze the composition of the raw material up to the final cement. Accuracy of the cement analysis is guaranteed by following the ASTM C114 norm as well as the ISO 29581-2 norm.
Overview
Fast response
The Zetium’s short measurement times for accurate analysis guarantee fast response to production control systems while requirements for expensive and time-/labor-consuming wet chemistry are virtually eliminated. When configured with the ED core, the time for the elemental analysis can be reduced even further. The ED core also stores measured spectra to help improve traceability of production quality.
Automation
The Cement edition of Zetium can easily be integrated into automated sample preparation and analysis systems. The spectrometer can receive samples from three sides allowing for flexible system setup. In most cases the instrument can even be fitted into existing systems, reducing the requirement for expensive laboratory re-designs.
The integrated robotic sample handler can pick up samples from the transfer points and load them into the spectrometer while the software interface takes care of transfer of sample information to the Zetium spectrometer and transmits the analysis results to the LIMS and/or plant control system. The system’s intelligence allows for additional (manually entered) samples to be analyzed in between the automatically fed production samples without any operator attendance.
The Malvern Panalytical automation team can provide automated systems as turn-key solutions in cooperation with world-renowned suppliers of sample preparation equipment.
Solid return on investment and minimal cost of operation
The Cement edition of Zetium eliminates the need for multiple instruments (for elemental and for structural analysis), ensuring an optimal return on investment with minimal cost of operation. The built-in flexibility allows for additional analytical tasks (like for example the analysis of alternative fuels) without the need for additional analytical equipment. The easy-to-use software enables even less experienced staff to operate the instrument without any risk of making mistakes.
Connected World
Unleash the potential of your data
Until now, instrument data has too often been stuck in manual records, spreadsheets or site-specific servers. By connecting the Zetium to our Smart Manager and continually analyzing instrument data in the cloud, you can unleash its full potential. This is just one of our digital solutions that are part of Malvern Panalytical's Connected World.
Features
Elemental analysis
Zetium is capable of analyzing all major and minor elements and compounds in the entire cement production, such as raw materials, raw meal, kiln feed, clinker and cement. Typical errors, including sample handling and sample preparation, are less than 1% relative.
Calibration maintenance
Calibration maintenance is a routine operation based on a limited number of instrument control samples and drift monitors. These samples do not require maintenance and can be used over the whole lifetime of the instrument. The SuperQ software of the Cement edition of Zetium allows setting up automatic routine maintenance at chosen time intervals without human interference.
