MicroCal PEAQ-DSC microcalorimeters are powerful tools that enable characterization of the thermal stability of proteins and other biomolecules, primarily for biopharmaceutical development and manufacture. They are used for general stability studies, for biosimilarity and batch-to-batch comparability assessment, and for the optimization of purification and manufacturing conditions. MicroCal PEAQ-DSC systems are simple to use, requiring little assay development, and no labeling or immobilization.
There are two MicroCal PEAQ-DSC Differential Scanning Calorimetry instruments available, both of which are designed for use in the regulated biopharmaceutical environment. The MicroCal PEAQ-DSC Automated system has an autosampler for hands-free operation, easing the workload of screening large numbers of samples and pre-set cleaning schedules. For instruments located in Biosafety Level 2 (BSL-2) labs, decontamination cleaning protocols are now also enabled. The MicroCal PEAQ-DSC is a manual instrument, which offers equal performance, reproducibility and minimal sample consumption, for laboratories which need to analyze fewer samples. Both instruments are operated by MicroCal PEAQ-DSC software, containing the following four specialist modules:
