The launch of OmniTrust – our solution for the regulated environment
Do you trust me?
If you ask my colleagues or friends if they trust me, I’d hope most of them would say yes!
I’m a bit of a stickler for rules – I like to be sure things are done properly. When my son was born, I struggled with there being no rule book I that came along with him! If I agree to do something, it’s in my nature to deliver on that, and to let you know as soon as possible if I cannot.
The extension of trust
Trust and integrity in all aspects of life – both personally and professionally – is so important. I know that our customers trust us with their materials characterization needs. And, in turn, they are trusted to deliver quality products to their customers. If our customers are pharmaceutical developers and manufacturers, we trust them to help make us better whilst keeping us safe.
I’ve worked at Malvern Panalytical for over 15 years. During that time, I’ve been trusted by our customers to help them get the most out of their analytical systems. Whilst working with our Morphologi analytical imaging range, I’ve spent considerable time with our pharmaceutical customers, and have installed and qualified more than my fair share of instruments! I have long been aware of the requirements for 21 CFR Part 11 and data integrity. But, to be honest, I have managed to avoid getting too involved with the detail……
Delivering the detail
……..That was, until early 2019, when I was asked to join a project to deliver a new 21 CFR Part 11 software platform for use across a number of Malvern Panalytical’s instruments. Initially, I wasn’t thrilled at the prospect, but I reluctantly agreed. A key attraction was the opportunity to work with new colleagues, both in the UK and the Netherlands.
I joined the project partway though, so the groundwork was already done! My colleagues had worked with several customer champions to understand their requirements. Since then, I’ve enjoyed collaborating with team members from Almelo, Porto, and Malvern, from within R&D, Project Management and Sector Marketing, as well as with other Product Managers. I’ve also visited pharmaceutical customers in a number of countries, to get their all-important feedback. Working with a team of people from different cultural backgrounds and with a variety of first languages has been interesting! Who would have thought something as simple as the word ‘comments’ could be understood in so many different ways?
Simplifying the complex
Throughout this project, I have been trusted to ensure that our customers who work in regulated and validated environments are at the forefront of every decision we make. In this way, we can enable them to meet their data integrity and compliance requirements, without burdening them with a complex solution that adds to their workflow with unnecessary administration.
I believe we have succeeded in this.
