On the road with the Morphologi G3
Hi again, I have just returned from a whistle stop tour of the UK with my Morphologi. It is great to meet users and potential users of the system and discuss their applications and ideas.
I started off at the UK seminars which over a two week period took place at the Celtic Manor at Newport, Ascot race course, Stirling management centre and Bradford. I gave live demonstrations of the Morphologi alongside the demonstrations of the Mastersizer 3000.
The audience got to see how we can disperse and measure dry powders and then applications were discussed including method development validation when using ultrasound to aid dispersion, the analysis of gypsum suspensions and the measurement of crystal particles suspended in a cream.
Such events really do show that ‘seeing is believing’ as many guests to the seminars could not believe how much data was generated in a relatively short measurement time!
This week I was back on the road again attending the Industrial Exhibition at Hinton House at Sellafield in Risely. Andrew Walton and I manned the stand with both a Morphologi and a Kinexus on display and gave presentations on
‘Using morphological imaging to characterise particulate materials’
and
‘Investigating some of the relationships between particle properties and rheology’
Both presentations described relatively new technologies to the audience but seemed to be quite well received with several visits to our stand afterwards.
I am hoping for a couple of weeks back in the office now so I can work on some new application ideas gathered during the tour!
