Back to basics: particle size analysis for drug development and manufacture

Particle sizing for drug development and manufacture

The world is changing! Ok, the world is always changing, but this is a particularly changeable period in history. We know the cause; Covid-19, and we know the effect; supply chain disruption. This has led to shortages of something or other, whether it be a mild inconvenience or a raw material fundamental to business operations. The consequences are variable and more is likely to come. So, it is with some reassurance that some things remain consistent. Such as the use of particle size distribution to control quality in the numerous applications of powders and suspensions. And we’re here to help measure it with laser diffraction.

So, to help you get a firm hold on the basics, we’re running a webinar series that returns to the fundamentals of laser diffraction and its applications in the pharmaceutical industry.

About the series

To start, we’ll cover some of the key principles of particle size distribution and how laser diffraction instruments can measure it. In the second webinar, we will delve a little deeper into method development by taking a look at the variables that are typically encountered when running laser diffraction tests. In the third and final webinar, we will round up with a discussion on specification and validation and how that’s relevant to the pharmaceutical industry. So, if you find yourself in formulation or process development, QA/QC, or somewhere in between and have an interest in particle sizing, then this series will be a good start.

Ask a question

In each of these webinars, you’ll be able to put your questions to our technology and application experts. So, don’t hesitate to present us with your challenges. Our detail-loving geeks are looking forward to helping you resolve your material characterization and drug developability challenges. For now, it’s business as usual and we’re always happy to hear from you through the usual channels.
