Overview
The Extraction Accessory will:
- Minimize the possibility of particle recirculation during measurements, which may cause a sampling bias.
- Help reduce any measurement errors caused by spray droplets moving through the Spraytec measurement zone at different speeds.
- Reduce the risk of user exposure to the spray particles, by providing HEPA-grade filtering.
How it works
When measuring spray droplet and particle size distributions using the Spraytec system, it is important to ensure the spray travels through the laser diffraction measurement zone at a constant velocity. This helps minimize particle recirculation, for example due to turbulence with the spray plume. It also helps to reduce any measurement bias caused by spray particles moving through the measurement zone at different velocities.
The Extraction Accessory provides a means of ensuring the spray velocity is maintained during the measurement of low-volume sprays, such as those produced by nasal sprays, domestic aerosols or personal care products. It is supplied with a HEPA-rate filter, which helps to minimize user exposure to the spray. Operation of the extraction system can be automated as part of a measurement procedure.
