How to find our training courses – 2 types – Remote or in-person!
If you are looking to find training courses for a new (or existing) instrument from us, you have come to the right place. Well, almost – our training courses are listed on our main website. In order to get directly to the correct place, follow the tips in this post. The description is primarily for courses held in English. As an added bonus, we offer courses in various other languages. As an example, I’ll list the next ones in German. So here are the steps to get you on a training course.
The master list of training courses [English only]
Go to our main English website and navigate to Webinars and Events then select the category User training events and you will find a list of currently active training courses. In principle, the filters on the left side should work. However, don’t despair if your course is not listed. Depending on browser, setup in our system, geolocation, etc, some of the filters may be non-functional. The safest method is to page through the list of events to check for your interest. Please note that only training in English appears here. Therefore, a filter for other languages may not yet yield any results from this list. Jump to the last paragraph below for non-English tips. Oh, and this training course list is updated frequently as new courses are added, so check back often!
How to find out if the training course is remote or in-person?
Once you have the master list of training courses, the filter on the left side allows sub-selection of training course types. One type is Online training – here the course happens via the internet. Place a checkmark at Online training, and press Update Results. You can stay at your office or laboratory or home office and participate in the training remotely. Depending on the instructor and course type, you can typically interact via Teams chat and audio. On request, you receive a certificate of attendance at the end.
For clarification, note that the descriptions “online” = “virtual” = “remote” all mean the same format in our course calendar: you attend from your computer over the internet.
Another type of training is Classroom based training. Here you can use the classroom based filter, and update the results. Depending on the location, you will have to travel to either a Malvern Panalytical technical training center, or a suitable location that we designate. You will have to arrange your travel logistics and may have to organize accommodation (i.e., hotel, meals, transportation). In classroom based training you attend a training course in person. This entails the potential risks of travel restrictions and cancellations.
How much does the training course cost?
There are three typical routes how to find the cost of training events. And this may depend on both your location and the location of where the training takes place. Please note, even remote training has a time zone which is the one of the trainers who gives the training. For example remote training from the Netherlands would happen in European time.
- Course description: this may list the cost of the training. Including instructions on how to book and purchase it. If nothing else, contact your local support team.
- As a package with a new instrument order: If your group ordered a new system, you may have booked a training course and/or vouchers with it. Your local Malvern Panalytical representative should be able to confirm what you ordered.
- By voucher: you can purchase training vouchers to be used for future training. These have a part number starting with CTA (for Classroom Training Additional seat), for example CTA2000 for a voucher for a two-day training event. You can use vouchers for either in-person or remote training courses. For in-person classroom training, you have to arrange your own travel, so the flexibility of remote may be more convenient. For example, you could purchase a training voucher in Sweden and use it for remote training in the Netherlands or in the UK.
Vouchers are a flexible method to offer training – especially remote training courses via Teams – to any customer globally. You can purchase locally in your local currency yet also have access to the global list of training courses.
Master list for non-English training courses
Are you trying to find training courses that are in a different language or outside an English-speaking country or in your own country? You can view the most suitable master list by first selecting your local language website. As an example, for Germany, Select “Deutsch” towards the top right of the website. Then “Webinare und Veranstaltungen” next “Anwenderschulungen“. Now the Filter “Online Schulungen” and the language “German” works after “Ergebnisse Aktualisieren” you will find two remote courses
