Heroes! UK Chamber of Commerce name Malvern Panalytical a Business Hero

Royal stamp of approval

Having gone the extra mile to support our local communities during the Coronavirus outbreak, Malvern Panalytical has been identified as a UK Business Hero 2020. The adaptability and determination of Malvern Panalytical staff, who continued to operate throughout the pandemic as an essential business to support the food and pharmaceutical industries, as well as producing PPE in house to fulfill local needs in the most challenging of times resulted in nomination. A huge THANK YOU and congratulations to all those involved; in recognition of these efforts a letter of congratulations from Her Royal Highness the Countess of Wessex has been received.

Kindness in the community

Mick Randle, along with the “dream team” were recognized in August, by the Herefordshire & Worcestershire Chamber of Commerce for going above and beyond, amidst pandemic measures to personally manufacture and distribute PPE to frontline workers in the local area.

3D Printers Assemble!…

Little did they know what an impact could be made from this truly inspiring email chain that circulated throughout R&D during April, providing an open communication forum for those eager to 3D print and personally deliver face shields to local, desperate key-worker facilities.

The flurry of impatient activity was deemed a perfect example of teamwork and collaboration for all concerned. A cross-functional team comprised of 14 members worked around the clock using their own 3D printers, spending their own time and money to print and assemble face shield parts.

In addition, many of the Malvern Panalytical team have taken to distributing these parts directly to local charities, hospices, and key workers. By opening communication channels with local hospitals, care homes, and emergency services the team were able to personally to deliver PPE to those who needed it most on a fluctuating day-to-day basis. Over 500 face shields and mask straps were personally distributed near and far, from our base in Malvern, to locations including Queen Elizabeth Hospital in Birmingham, Bobblestock Surgery in Hereford, Alexandra Hospital in Redditch, Worcester Royal (A&E and Neonatal), Warwick Hospital, Salters medical centre in Droitwich, Hereford and Worcester Ambulance Service, and Bromyard Hospital.

Award Winning Dedication

The group of change-makers were nominated for the Herefordshire & Worcestershire Chamber Business awards for “Kindness in the community” and were highly commended by Worcester Bosch who sponsored the award. Mick Randle was also nominated for “Exception Employee” for facilitation of the PPE production, enabling the workshop to continue at high capacity and remaining a beacon of positivity throughout the last 6 months. The team also received recognition from Lord Lieutenant of Worcestershire for their collaboration, courage, and selflessness during the COVID-19 pandemic.
