Bullseye every time: how FORJ unlocks XRF accuracy
X-ray fluorescence (XRF) analysis is a no-nonsense technique – if your sample isn’t right, your results won’t be right either. And that’s why we created FORJ™! It’s the world’s fastest, safest, and most accurate fusion instrument for sample preparation, and it unites impressive efficiency with high-quality results.
FORJ unites high-throughput capabilities with exceptional quality. There’s no compromise – you can still run your high-throughput samples without affecting the quality of the glass disks, ensuring the accuracy and precision of your analytical results. But let’s break this down and see how we made this essential combination of speed and accuracy a reality.
Feeling the heat
Firstly, FORJ’s Heat Ramp mode helps to ensure perfect control over heating oxidation – an indispensable factor to achieve a higher fusion success rate, and consequently better analytical results. It systematically increases the temperature at the user-defined rate, from 1 °C to 50 °C per minute, until the heating chamber hits your setpoint. This guarantees an optimized fusion process for every sample type.
But that’s not all. Ensuring furnace stability is a mission-critical task. Thanks to FORJ’s embedded thermocouple, this doesn’t have to be a headache. Positioned between the refractory layers, the thermocouple monitors the temperature to prevent any fusion cycle from starting without ensuring furnace stability. This safeguards against inconsistent results, helping you maintain the repeatability you need.
We’ve also made calibrating your furnace thermocouple a breeze with our support documentation, supporting uniform temperature across multiple FORJ instruments for larger laboratory setups.
Precise control for precise results
Now, let’s talk about FORJ’s innovative NWA (non-wetting agent) pill injector. We’re proud to say that it’s the world’s most reliable system, ensuring that the right quantity is delivered at the right time in the fusion process. It has the ability to detect a missing pill and notifies the operator instantly. Plus, with the ability to accommodate 1 or 2 pills per fusion cycle, dealing with ‘sticky’ samples has never been easier.
But how do you make absolutely sure everything is going as intended? Sometimes – especially when you’re working on your fusion method development – you just need to see for yourself. So, we added the Pause and Inspect function to allow you to peek at the melt state at a specific time during the cycle. This function is not just insightful; it’s also designed with the utmost safety for operators in mind. The safety doors stay closed, but you can see exactly what’s going on.
A new standard has been set
When it comes to achieving high-quality, accurate, and repeatable results, FORJ sets a new standard. It transforms sample preparation into an efficient, high-throughput process, without compromising on quality – transforming the sample preparation method into the strongest link in your analytical chain!
