Join this three-part webinar series to learn about solid form selection and characterization from practicing experts at Netzsch and Malvern Panalytical. We will use real-life case studies to show you the analytical techniques that make active pharmaceutical ingredient (API) candidate selection process more productive.
Why is solid form selection & characterization important?
As drug molecules become increasingly complex, solid form characterization can provide drug development scientists with the insights they need to accelerate the development of new pharmaceutical products.
In this series you will see how solid form analysis provides deep insight into your APIs physico-chemical behavior, allowing you to filter out less stable forms and arrive at the end of the process with one well understood substance, suited for further development.
You will also discover how our comprehensive range of products and services can help you get new products to market faster while de-risking the process.
Part one: API Selection
September 30, 2021
In the first session we will focus on API selection. Join us as Malvern Panalytical and Netzsch experts chart the path from candidate molecule synthesis to lead candidate selection, using a range of thermal and structural solid form characterization techniques. Discover why applying a multi-technique approach provides the most robust mechanism for selecting lead candidates.

Part two: Formulation & Process Development
October 28, 2021
The second webinar in our series explores formulation and process development. We will look into stability assessment, demonstrating how thermal and structural solid form analysis methods can be used in a complementary way. A similar approach is applied to DSC/TGA and XRD experiments involving changes in relative humidity values. Hence, even complex behavior can be easily understood through building phase diagrams based on such experiments.
We will also explain why particle size and shape characterization is critical to ensuring robust formulation (with appropriate process parameters) and how this can be achieved.

Part three: Characterizing amorphous materials
November 17, 2021
The final event will focus on the characterization of amorphous materials. Such forms of API gain increasing attention due to their improved solubility. However, it is vitally important to fully understand their stability behavior in order to ensure a reliable drug product (with sufficient shelf-life) can be realized. In this case a multi-technique approach including structural, thermal and morphological analysis should be adopted.
