Career pathway
Dr Caves has spent 20 years working in various academic and commercial life science settings. He has published scientific papers on biotherapeutic characterization and formulation, and has applied this knowledge during various roles within the pharmaceutical and diagnostics industries.
He spent over ten years working in various academic and commercial bioscience laboratories. His PhD research project involved collaborating with a Cambridge-based formulation-development company (Arecor Limited) in order to study the process of protein inactivation.
Following this, he worked for SGS M-Scan, a contract research organization based in Wokingham, developing the company's biopharmaceutical biophysical analysis and formulation development services.
Having helped build the formulation development service at SGS Life Sciences, Michael joined Malvern Panalytical in 2013 in order to support customers around the world.
