Behind the scenes at Analytica

This week I’m at Analytica in Munich surrounded by my colleagues from Malvern Panalytical. Even if it took me longer to reach the show because of the airline strikes, I’m happy to be talking to our customers and showing them our new products.

Our recently launched products the Morphologi 4 and the Epsilon 4 are taking pride of place at the front of the stand and there has been a lot of interest in them.

For the Morphologi 4 and 4-ID, I have enjoyed demonstrating it live to attendees at the exhibition. I have met current customers who use Mastersizer and want to find out more about how imaging or MDRS offer complimentary and more detailed particle characterization. I have also spoken to users of the Morphologi G3, the predecessor to the Morphologi 4 who are keen to learn about improvements in terms of the Sharp Edge analysis and the new integrated award-winning design.

We have seen lots of people working in pharmaceuticals and additive manufacture, but have also had lots of interesting discussions with people who need to identify and characterize microplastic particles found in the environment.

My colleague Stefan Hoffmann tells me the Epsilon 4 product is a big step forward in the elemental analysis using Energy Dispersive X-Ray Fluorescence (EDXRF).

The combination of detectors and X-Ray source allows a broad range of application such as Pharmaceutical, Food, and Material science. This new product is capable of replacing time-consuming wet chemist application (titration ICP and AES, AAS).
