Training courses for GPC/SEC users
It’s September again, and that means it’s back-to-school time! However, things will inevitably look a little different this year with the prevalence of remote learning and virtual classes. While we lament our inability to meet face-to-face, at Malvern Panalytical we’re utilizing this opportunity to increase the accessibility of our training courses.
As a result, for our GPC/SEC users, we will offer a single-day program dedicated to our legacy TDA platform, followed by a separate single-day course focused on the popular OMNISEC system with its expanded software features. The courses will be led from the US but all are welcome to join!

Course topics
The agenda for the training courses will be similar, but each will include instruction on the corresponding software platform. Each of the training courses will discuss general GPC/SEC theory, how each detector works, the analysis options available, and guidance when working with data and your instrument. Therefore, specific topics covered in the courses include:
- Detector theory (RI, UV/Vis, Light Scattering & Viscometer)
- Conventional, universal, & multi-detection calibrations
- Compositional & branching analyses
- Data interpretation, good practice & troubleshooting
In addition, questions during the courses are welcomed and encouraged. In fact, the Microsoft Teams format allows attendees to submit questions via the chat functionality and the non-presenting host(s) can answer during the presentation. Not only does this save time, but it also provides a record that we can share for future reference!
