MicroCal ITC and DSC Virtual User Meetings – Come join us!
Whenever I am asked “What do you enjoy about working for Malvern Panalytical?” my answer is always “Meeting our customers!” I always learn from you, and I enjoy providing our MicroCal users with the tools they need to succeed with the instrumentation and the technology.
I have missed seeing everyone face-to-face, and I am looking for opportunities to reconnect with you. This is the main reason our user meetings are so important, and why I make the effort to make sure they regularly happen. Please join us for our upcoming virtual MicroCal meetings in November 2021.
When is it?
Even though we are not able to meet in person this year, Malvern Panalytical is hosting two virtual MicroCal-focused user meetings.
- The ITC users meeting is on Wednesday, November 3, 1-4 PM EDT
- The DSC users meeting is on Wednesday, November 10, 1-4 PM EDT
If you are a MicroCal user and would like to attend, sign up as soon as possible! You can register at the ITC users meeting here, and the DSC users meeting here.
Why should you attend?
Everyone is welcome to attend! If you are considering adding Isothermal Titration Calorimetry (ITC) or Differential Scanning Calorimetry (DSC) to your analytical toolbox, or an experienced calorimetrist, you will learn something new at our meeting.
At the users meeting, you will have the opportunity to learn from and engage with MicroCal experts on topics that range from best practices and What’s new in MicroCal ITC and DSC software, to topics including SARS-CoV2 receptor binding, enzyme kinetics, intrinsically disordered proteins, antibody stability, protein energetics, and biopharmaceutical formulation development.
The presentations include:
ITC:
- Understanding enzymatic regulation through synergistic use of biophysical techniques: Characterization of allosteric regulation of ribonucleotide reductase, presented by Inna Rozman Grinberg, Ph.D. Stockholm University, Sweden
- Characterization of Ligand Binding to Proteins with Intrinsically Disordered Domains, presented by Arne Schon, Ph.D. Johns Hopkins University
- Interplay between protein stability, binding to ACE2 and escape from neutralizing antibodies determines the natural selection of SARS-CoV-2 receptor binding domain variants, presented by Krishna Mallela, Ph.D., University of Colorado
- Expanding access to Biophysical tools beyond ITC and DSC – service offerings by Concept Life Science, presented by Lorraine Hendry, Concept Life Sciences
DSC:
- Reversibility and irreversibility in the temperature denaturation of monoclonal antibodies, presented by Ernesto Freire, Ph.D., Johns Hopkins University
- CaMKII energetics and its role in long-term memory, presented by Margaret Stratton, Ph.D., University of Massachusetts
- The value of orthogonal analytics during biopharmaceutical stability profiling and formulation development, presented by Natalia Markova, Ph.D., Malvern Panalytical
- Expanding access to Biophysical tools beyond ITC and DSC – service offerings by Concept Life Science, presented by Lorraine Hendry, Concept Life Sciences
We also have presentations on microcalorimetry best practices, given by Malvern Panalytical applications scientists.
There will also be ample time for discussion and questions and answers. I encourage you to submit questions to myself, Muneera Beach, or Stoyan Milev before the meetings – email the questions and include any relevant data.
More information about the speakers and the agendas can be found on the event registration websites.
Registration is free. I hope to see you on November 3 and/or November 10.
