Advances in Microcalorimetry 2020 is now virtual!

In February, I posted a blog announcing our 2020 Advances in Microcalorimetry meeting.

That seems like seven years ago, not seven months. Like many other organizations, we are not able to host live conferences.

Even though there is no replacement for a live meeting, we are doing 2 virtual meetings.

Advances in Microcalorimetry – Focus on ITC on October 20, 2020, between 1-4 PM ET.

Advances in Microcalorimetry – Focus on DSC on October 21, 2020 between 1-4 PM ET.

Invited speakers include:

  • Dorothy Beckett, University of Maryland “Probing Allosteric Mechanism with Isothermal Titration Calorimetry.”
  • Anthony Mittermaier, McGill University “Mapping enzyme function with accumulation/depletion ITC kinetics experiments.”
  • Ernesto Freire, Johns Hopkins University “DSC of Monoclonal Antibodies.”
  • Katherine Bowers, Fujifilm Diosynth Biotechnologies USA “Differential Scanning Calorimetry: So much more than just Tms.”
  • Natalia Markova, Malvern Panalytical “Sample and Data Quality in Interaction and Structural Analysis – Two Sides of the Same Coin” and “Delving Deeper Into AAV Attributes: Enhanced Characterization Using Multiple Technologies.”

We are including presentations on microcalorimetry best practices, given by Malvern Panalytical applications scientists.

There will also be ample time for discussion and questions and answers. I encourage you to submit questions to me before the meetings – email and include any relevant data.

More information about the speakers and the agendas can be found on the event registration web sites.

Everyone is welcome to attend – scientists considering adding ITC or DSC to their analytical toolbox, students, research scientists, and  experienced calorimetrists.

Registration is free. I hope to “see” you on October 20 and 21.
